Spottingscopes My Suggestion December If you use a scope extensilvely then save up for a high quality scope with a diameter of about 80mm to get lots of light to a x Zoom eyepiece. I have always used Kowa scopes, and they are up to par with Zeiss and Swarovski. But try them out because you might not like a feature like the large focusing ring on Swarovski and some Nikons, making your choice a little easier. If you want to go with a cheaper scope like Kamakura then be sure to carefully compare with the other scopes in low light e. But I have noticed that sometimes I really would like a larger scope to get the higher magnification. So my advice is to get a Kowa or a Zeiss with a x Zoom!

Posts hi there, as others have said difficult with out budget but for what its worth, in terms of optics you tend to get what you pay for and the market has sorted the wheat from the chaff, expensive glass is the best but heavy, good plastic with decent coatings go for the largest lens possible will be fine for I expect all your needs, some random practical things I have learned you may wish to consider. I have never found a comfortable position to use a straight scope when looking at stars but is easy to use in the horizontal plane. I think - it fits in bag, don't care if it gets a few knock it has , it has taken a dunking more than once no internal misting, so I guess the vacuum remains intact and has the widest field of view - rubbish zoom needs to be refocused throughout the entire focal length - but very useable this is not the case of more expensive scopes , sits on a 'Table thwart' in front of my rear seat when paddling. I would suggest cheep and cheerful for your first scope and have a play about hope this helps.

The market for 50mm lightweight scopes was for a long time dominated by Opticron, and later Nikon set the bar with their ED Now there is a much greater choice with models from Opticron, Nikon, Vortex and now Viking. The lightest, and arguably optically best, of these travel scopes is still the Nikon, but it is the most expensive of the bunch and is facing some stiff competition.
I have said to my partner in every sense that we should try and travel light when we go off on a birding jaunt. This time she and I resolved to pack far less clothes as we would be staying in a villa with a washing machine. They plump for the 60mm because of the higher magnification.
