What can we do to assure volunteers actually serve as reliable guides on the path toward maturity? Some swear by long-term one-on-one mentoring. Others center ministry around peer-led small groups.

Male students who are currently enrolled in school in grades , qualify to participate in the Brother to Brother program. Students enrolled in grades at Charles H. This includes a commitment to have their child attend most weekly, 2-hour meetings, and periodic special events for the duration of the academic year. Students and parents must agree to fill out a short confidential questionnaire at the beginning and end of the program cycle. These questionnaires help us improve the quality of the services we provide.

K-12 mentorship gets teen Michael Jordan scholarship
As a city we can come together to support our youth. Mentoring Partners A Safe Haven A Safe Haven provides one on one mentoring and group mentoring to 40 youth ages that are under-served opportunity youth with resources as well as after school activities. Program services are at A Safe Haven. The program supports youth with the transition of independent living, how to navigate the high school experience and relationships as a person with a disability. The focus is to also understand disability justice and how to access needed resources while working towards a model of interdependence as independence.
Shockley worked her way to the state competition after winning in March in Loudon County. The state competition mimicked the local contest through its various segments, which are fitness, talent, self-expression, academics and interview. Though Shockley was head-to-head with 20 other contestants, she said the competition was not to put girls against one another but to look closely at each girl individually.
